Applying the fundamental principles of architecture in the world of fashion design

In fashion, as with architecture, aesthetic will only carry you so far. An office tower or home is far more than a static monument. It is a living organism, interacting with those around and within. Similarly, the measure of a shirt, dress, skirt or jacket must include criteria beyond mere outward appearance.

How well does either a building or an article of clothing complement its surrounding environment? Does it encourage fluidity of motion and awareness of space. Will it stand the test of time - retaining both its structural integrity and cultural relevance? Most importantly, does it instill confidence - inspiring and empowering its 'inhabitants'.

Lara approaches the design of every piece, in every collection, as one would a building - using 'inhabitable' spaces to inspire 'wearable' pieces.
